Little Elephant
2020
The little carport that could. We reworked the rear garden of a 1930s Georgian revival house in Southgate to include more outdoor leisure space. The open carport supported on two iron legs allows light and air to filter into the pool and serves as additional covered porch space when guests come over. The form of the little building was inspired by the image of a baby elephant touching trunks with her big mom. The window pattern is just a normcore interpretation of Le Corbusier’s la fenêtre en longueur.
This was a design-build project.
